help with air conditioning....

has anybody here done their own AC "recharge", I think mine might need it. I have a 97 SE and it seems that the air conditioning is struggling to keep the car cool, and yes i have tints(20% all around)Even when i have the AC on full blast the cabin temp becomes only marginally cooler. I would really rather not bring the car in for this service, for obvious reasons. Can I just by some R134 since it is readily available and add it to the system?...Anybody with this experience please help.

YES!!!

You need 3 things... a Chilton's or Haynes manual, a can or 2 of R134, and an A/C recharge kit. I don't know where to plug the hose in for recharging, the manual should help you with that. Actually, I would say it's a good idea to plug in the hose/guage first to measure the current charge before you try to add A/C juice.

Good Luck,

Justin

there might not be anything wrong either... for some reason, the 4th gen AC doesn't seem to work too well, even when new!
