Car vibrating bad!
Car vibrating bad!
Ok guys here is the problem. I start the car with the normal long crank that i can't seem to figure out,but thats another story, anyway The car starts to vibrate pretty bad and never stoped, it really was ok until I came to a stop. There is no rpm bouncing and it seems a sluggish. I didn't get to check under the hood because I had to go to work , but what do you guys think might be the problem? My first guess is a bad injector , which went bad on me before and showed similar symtoms or maybe the maf or maybe a ignition coil or could it even be bad gas??
My question also is how do I test those thing above? Please give a detailed description if you can. I really don't wanna pay some mechanic to find a million things wrong and try to cost me 1000 bucks. Please somebody help me in my deleima. Please only reply to this post if you have some knowlegdable info.
btw NO codes

Well a code finally came up it was 0603 which means cylinder 6 misfire. So I'm going to say the injector is bad because I unhooked the injector and rode it around and iit feels the same. Going to buy a injector now.
isn't it a little more likely that it's the coil pack... unplug the coil and see if it runs differently (if not, it could be that as well). If it's not firing, then it won't make much difference if it's getting gas, in which case unpluging the injector doesn't tell you crap.
pull the spark plug and look to see what the arm looks like. Then go here and read!

Most likely a coil pack, our injectors don't fail very often.

is a priceless investment when it comes to troubleshoot and testing electronic systems on your car.

They are telling me now that I some how flooded the motor while changing the injector and now that it is cleared I bent a valve. Im not sure will find out in a little bit. This just F%$#ing sucks!
is it just a loud ticking? If its just a loud ticking and they are listening for it, its your injectors, maxima injectors are loud. I am guessing because they are pretty well exposed, and nothing is really there to block the noise. My car ticks too, bit its not the valves.
Just a hint for detecting injector "ticking"... a scope is helpful since there are technically 6 "ticking things" going on at once. If you don't have a scope, listening through the handle of a screwdriver placed on the injector is just as good.
Its all figured out. I fixed it a long time ago. The bad injector dumped to much fuel in the cylinder so much in fact that it was coming out my exhaust! Changed the injector, cleared all the gas out and ran the car for about an hour of burning up alll the fuel in my exhuast (smoking like crazy) and wolla she ran great again, but LOL lost about a 1/2 a tank of gas. Everybody keeps talking about coilpacks, but problems seem to keep being these damn injectors!
If you get any misfire codes its most likely the injector or the coilpack and possibly the sparkplug.
