all OBDII scanners will fit ur car...ur port is just not in the same space as 96-up....and yes counting blinks is easier...goto Phatg20.net and download the FSM....once u count blinks all codes are listed in teh FSM...to count blinks search the stickies for Check Engine Light

Actrons are good OB2 scanners. That's what I have. If you want a more expensive scanner, get one that can read P1 codes as well as P0 codes. P1 codes are codes set from the manufacturer. Most generic codes can pick up the P1 codes, but they usually come up undefined. In this case, you must go the dealer to extract these codes and see what they mean. And as far as the 95 model Max's, I had a '95 Max (manufactured in 1994) and the OB2 scanners do work. There's a port on the driver's side near the fuse box and a port on the front passenger's side floor near the center console. (Nissan uses these ports for their CONSULT tool to monitor the car's behavior with the engine running or while driving.) Yeah, Nissan was well ahead of the game as far as OB2's. It wasn't until 1996 it became a national law for all cars manufactured for the U.S. that had to be OB2 compliant.

I like this one http://www.obdscan.net/ . I don't have one yet but plan on purchasing it in the near future. It requires a laptop or Palm PDA. Their newer model supports OBDII and the new CAN Bus standard used on some of the newer vehicles.

Its there.....find it...then goto autozone and show them....i actually was at AX one time when a 95 Maxima rolled up with a code....they said they couldnt scan it....i jumped in and told them they could.....we argued for about 5 min until i grabbed the scanner and showed them......then i applied for a part time job and wouldnt hire me

not to jack the thread, but on my 97 there is the OBD-II port under the dash on the drivers side, and another grey/silver colored plug in the fuse box-is that for the Consult??? if so, why can't they monitor things thru the OBD-II port?
