Tricks to installing drivers side axle?

Tricks to installing drivers side axle?

As the title says, im trying to put my drivers side axle into my 98 I30 (auto LSD) but for whatever reason the thing wont go in?

Any tips or tricks?

Are you sure it's an LSD?
It should just push right into the tranny. Compair the new axle spline to the old one to make sure everything is the same. Again, it should just push right in.

Make sure the retaining ring is not bent out of shape, that can cause a lot of headaches. You can use a soft blow mallet to tap on the end of it, but be very careful not to damage the threads for the axle nut.

It should slide in faily easy with some rotating to make sure the threads line up. If you have to exhert a lot of force, time to state examining to make sure you have the right parts, and are not doing something wrong.
