Clutch has no pressure when pressed....

Hi guys, I was wondering can help mefigure this out. This morning when I went to start the car, I noticed that there was just no pressue on the clutch when pressed except towards the end. The clutch pedal feels loose. The car starts up but I just can't put it into gear. Does anybody know why ? I noticed that the clutch fluid was a little low and I filled it up a bit. I have yet to bleed it, but thought I'd ask in case there was another reason. I have a '98 SE. Thanks !!

Check ur fluid......if its is low or empty i would say clutch line....if its full then i would say slave cylinder....I would lean more towards the line since u had to fill it up some already

I say bleed it... cuz if you there wasn't enough, and you just put some fluid in, you may have inadvertently created an air pocket, which will absorb a lot of the pressure you are trying to create with the pedal. Good Luck.

in most cases there is a fluid leak somewhere. look at the slave cyl & line for leaks, if not there check the master cyl carefully under the hood & under the dash. on the slave cyl pull the boot back to see if there is wetness there.

Hey guys, I just finished checking it out. I put fluid in and bleed it and now it seems to be doing ok. Thanks for all the tip. However, you are right that there is a concern as to how it was low to being with. When I took a look, there was oil residue on the clutch hose so I'm not sure if that was an actual leak. I say that only because we checked it through and through and there was no leak that we could see.

Well, it's been 3 days since I bled and refilled the fluid reservoir and now the problem has come back. Does anyone know which it is more likely to be: Slave cylander or clutch hose ?

that is a pain in the rear end dude, i ve been having a problem with my clutch hydraulics for 3 years now. its cost me 2 clutches, motor mounts and axle vibration. i changes my rubber part of the line because parts were easy to find and i assumed that it would probably be the most delicate part of the line since its rubber. i dont even want to emagine what i would have to do if i find out its my slave cylinder, f - that, it looks like challenge, 4-5 on the difficulty chart, 1 or 2 is for most enthusiasts, with the aid of some good tools, and parts, you need to consider whether or not its worth your time. i know i would need help....

It's probably the clutch line. I had the same problem, replaced the line with an SS one, and everything is great so far.

Yeah its in the group deal section. Installation is kind of a pain, but its not too bad. Make sure you have a thin extension, you'll see why.
