List of Possible Poblems - Contribute

Lately my Max has been real sluggish. I remember when my mom(laugh) gave it to me, about 2 months ago, it was still kicking even with 140k.

Recently its been really slow, it doesnt have that take off or acceleration it used to and its eally got me worried.

Some issues/mods that might Help YOU to Help ME figure this out are:

1st mod - Hacked air Box. About a month ago, was still running smooth.

2nd issue - Check engine light for code 1005, 1008 has been on even before i got the car. So maybe thats not it.

3rd - Might need oil change, im just passing the jiffylube suggested date. Oil still appears very clean though.

4th- Cleaned EVAP/ and hoses - they were very dirty, the EVAP valve has white stuff built up inside. I took apart the plastic thing attached to it, and the prongs(electrical connections) were all rusted, some prongs fell out and are no longer connected, 3/6 prongs connected. later.

5th - I reset my ECU a couple times after mods and then after cleaning, since then its been sluggish.

6th- My coolent/antifreeze is leaking(previously posted). Refill it every week. I dont know where its leaking from. But its dripping from the oil pan, so it must be above that.

Havent checked the KS, going to pick up a voltage meter, but they're like 30-80$ at radioshack.

So, any other idea's what it could be?

I doubt the EVAP thing is causing it to go slow.

first off, the hacked airbox is a b/s mod-go get a stocker or glue the old pieces back in if you still have them; I did that to mine and it seemed to be slower and rougher, put a stocker back on and is much snappier and smoother, you have done nothing to increase the air intake requirements of you VQ so stock is fine...

fiz EVAP crap

if you cleared the ECM memory by leaving the BATT cable off for a while, then it may take some time to "re-learn" and adapt to your driving habbits, i.e. if you drive slow it will adapt for "economy" and if you drive like a bat outta hell then it will adapt for performance

where is it leaking anti-freeze from???

DEFINATLEY CHECK THE KS

Updated Pics of EVAP valve.

I'm trying to solder the connections back together, but the damn things wont grab/hold the solder. Its really falling apart...dunno if i can do it.

How much does one of these valve cost?

IS it important?

first of all, fix the EVAP stuff you broke. Go back to a stock air box, when mine was hacked, my car felt sluggish overall, especially low end power. If you have over 100,000 miles, i'd recommend you change your KS. Lastly find out what the codes are and fix them. By the way the antifreeze is probably you water pump weep hole.
