Was I scammed?
Was I scammed?
A couple days ago, from what I thought that was my "coolant", I saw it was below the minimum line. So i decided to get a "Radiator System Flush with Recycled Anitfreeze" today. I should of checked when I was at the store, but I didnt, but when I got home, I checked under my hood, and I saw the bottle next to the washer fluid was EMPTY.. im like wtff.. I called the place where I got it at, and I told them it was empty, and the guy told me how they topped me off.. Its the bottle with cap that says "Coolant Liquide Refrigerant." Is this what should have been filled, cuz its empty. Well, I looked around more in my hood, and right next to that bottle, is a small container with a black top that says "Fill to proper level", i seen that bottle was a lil moist. Whats this bottle? Im really lost on what was done and what wasnt.. Any1 can help and give advice.. Thanx....
My top is yellow but says the same thing. They mayhave topped off the the rad, but not filled the overflow tank. When the car has cooled down, check the RADIATOR to see if that's full. Then if you want/need to, add some to the overflow.

If your coolant was low to begin with their is a reason. If all you did was have the system flushed, you didn't find the reason. If you have a leaking line or cap, you will continue to lose anti-freeze and end up low just like before.
ok.. i found out the proper name of it.. .the coolant overflow tank... that should be filled up to the MAX lline.. i found out that when they flushed the system, they forgot to put another gallon in....

my guess is they didn't fully heat cycle the system before topping off the coolant reservoir. then when it cycled and cooled, it sucked the reservoir dry and sucked in some air. You should check the level in your radiator when the car is cold. top the radiator off and fill reservoir to the "Min" line - then start the car and heat cycle it with the heater blowing full hot, and while keeping the radiator topped off to just below the neck (so no air can get into the core). when the thermostat opens it will begin to purge hot coolant into the radiator, and the level will rise and begin to spill out the radiator neck - cap it now. this process purges the air from the system. continue to heat cycle (at least two cycles of the radiator fan) and top off the reservoir to "max". when the car cools it should not go below the "min" line.
use a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water for everything you do. keep and eye on your temp gauge, and verify that hot air blowing is out of the heater before you cap the radiator.
I'd say you were partially scammed, even though we don't know what you paid. I would not take your car back there because they will most likely fill the reservoir and send you on your way without purging any air from the system.
btw - I'm not sure what "recycled coolant" is, but I'm pretty sure it's the wrong type for your car. but that's another matter.
why did you go to a mechanic for that ?
1- go to nissan and get coolant
2- mix it 50/50 with water
3- open radiator top after it cools
4- open drain **** under radiator and drain it
5- close and refill
6- start car adding coolant till it fills and completes 2 heat cycles (watch the fans going on and off)
7- when it starts overflowing cap the rad
8-heat cycle again
9- let cool and check if overflow is at min if not fill as needed
10- let sit and check for leaks..................
doing this yourself cheap
telling the mechanic where he can put his air hose-priceless

Let's remember that not everyone has the ability or the time to do their own work on their car. If that were the case, there would be no mechanics.
Illest Max, I would also suggest that when you have time, take a look at your manual if you have one, or invest in a Chilton or Haynes manual to learn some of the basic operating systems of your car. The more informed you are, the less you'll get scammed.
