Tranny Blew. Help Needed!

Well today my tranny blew I hit NOS in 2nd gear and around 4000 rpm i felt the gears griding and there went my tranny for sure. Any suggestions on what I should do while i'm gonna be replacing it? If i'll have enough money ima get a new flywheel and clutch. Recommendations?

Get a good solid tranny and have it rebuilt before putting it in. Worn bearings can lead to gear blowouts. If you find a good tranny shop have them shim it a few thous tighter for better shock absorption.

Do not put a stiffer clutch in than necessary. Do some research and figure out what what you need - any stiffer becomes unnecessary driveline shock that will shred gears again.

Cuz its quick! You'd be surprised how hard a Maxima on stick pulls. In first gear I pull on almost every car on the road. Then I switch into second and its not that strong and thats where the NOS comes into play.

The real question is why someone who put NOS on a Maxima would need to ask why their tranny blew.

Lol Its really funny how everyone here is a smartass. Im asking suggestions on what kind of flywheel/clutch i should put it and people are bein completely useless by asking questions why do you have nos? wouldnt you know what to do since you have nos? Read the name of the thread, it has nothing to do with NOS. If you dont have anything useful/helpful to say dont say anything.

Replace the tranny, new lightweight flywheel and cluth, and get rid of the NOS. Should be fine.

Just replace or rebuild the transmission, make sure all the bearings are good. and keep spraying maybe lower the shot a little if your worried about it hurting it again.

Your question has already been answered. Get your hands on a decent tranny and have it rebuilt--have them shim the bearings a bit tighter, and make absolutely sure they shim the diff bearings. From there go for only the clutch that you need, nothing more--crazy gripping clutches will increase driveline shock, as dgeesaman stated. Go ahead and get a fidanza if you want, it'll pull harder in first and second.

I found a Fidenza flywheel and a Spec Stage 2 clutch for $620 shipped. Is that a good deal? Any other places people recommend to buy this stuff from?
