95/96 aftermarket fog/driving lights

Before I explain, I know you will say just get the stock fogs. But I don't have the money for that right now. Thanks.

Okay...I have been searching for over an hour on cardomain for pictures and brands of fog lights that look decent in the lower opening of the front bumper. What brand, with low price in mind, do you recommend? At Autozone I found a brand called Pilot. Any thoughts on that brand? Their prices seem to be in my range of around $30-$50.

This may be a temporary thing until I can buy HID's.

Forgot to mention I have a $20 gift card to Autozone, so that will cut down the price as well.

Pilot brand....anyone?

what he's going to spend on hellas he might as well buy stockers. pilots are fine as replacement fogs. they make you look cool, dont expect them to illuminate the world for 40 bucks

I don't want to go with Hellas for the reason of them being high priced, well more than I want to pay now. If I had the money to buy Hellas, I would buy HID's instead.
I am not really wanting to look cool, I plan to use these as functional lights, not always on just because I have them. But they do need to look decent on the car.

I guess I'll just try some and if they work good, great. If not, that's okay, not much money spent on them.

Thanks

^^^^Yes. Plus I don't want to spend a lot on lights now, in case I get HID's later. And also, I want to paint my fading roof and get a front lip. So I don't really want to save money for fog lights. I'd rather save up for those.
The only reason I was looking into getting fog lights is that I have a gift card and I thought fogs would be a useful purchase.

Yes, I want them to look decent, but I don't want to pay for stock fogs. This is most likely a temporary thing.

If you dont have much money than dont bother with lights. Youll only end up with some ricey blue POS. Just use the gift card for maintenance. You must need something on your car replaced at its age.

No because the stock fogs are BS, they dont do anything. The Hellas are the best light at this price. They work really well and have been rated high in independent studies. They come in both driving and fog beam patterns to fit your use.

i agree with jsutter 100%. if this is a temporary thing, why are you going to waste the little money you have on a set of cheap lights? use the gift card for maintenance or buy some quality headlight bulbs if seeing clear is your goal.

i dont disagree that hellas are a better performing light, i just would prefer the look of a factory light for the money spent., and your first post did ask which ones to you think look better. i dont think there are more than 1% or people on here that have fogs that arent stock. aftermarket ones dont look as nice and dont give you a greater improvement of vision, so no one wastes the money on them. you cant expect the world out of a 30 dollar pair of fogs. if you are still dead set on getting a set of pilots, then get a set of big rectangular ones or at least a 3 inch diameter round one. the small ones look stupid and dont fill up the big hole for the stock fogs enough.

He's driving a '96, stock fogs are over $200. IMO just try the pilots out, if you like em keep em; if not send them back I got someopen box hellas on ebay for $40 shipped

why waste money on temporary fogs that will more than likely be useless. Just save the 50 you would spend and put it towards the HIDs you want.

True, stock fogs do look better.

So if looks is you main goal get stock, if output/performance is your main goal invest in a pair of name brand lights, if you just want some $20 fogs pick a pair that you like they are all pretty much the same. 99% of them use an H3 bulb, come in a zillion colors and styles. Just dont expect anything actually usefull.
