When i start my car, it makes this horrible squeaking noise.

but it makes an even longer and louder noise when my heat is turned on. and when i turn the heat off, the noise stops.
it's getting very annoying.

anyone know what it could be?

i was told it may be my serpentine belt..is this true?


btw it's coming from the right side of the engine

 

Try popping your hood and listening for the noise, turn a few accessories on and off to help pinpoint the sound. It could be a worn belt, your idler pulley going bad, a bearing in your alternator that needs some oil. You have the car right there do you honestly expect someone on the forum to tell you what the noise is?

 

tighten the compressor belt and see what happens.... then you can go from there...
