Type of grease used to grease the starter
I'm about to greas up the starter ... but I'm confused about what type of grease I should use. I don't want use the wrong grease, that would be bad I think ...

anyone ....? I"m sure some of you guys have re-greased the starter ... I saw on the motorvate.ca website he used some Lithium based grease .... just wondering what you guys used ...

Just go to shucks (or your closest auto supply store) and ask them for lithium based greased. I believe its white but i cant remember; its been a while. Just ask them and make sure its out of an arosol can.

First of all, the FSM said the grease should be hi-temp. grease. Any grease for high-temp use is good. I was using hi-temp bearing grease. All good.
Secondly, since you would remove the air duct up to throttle body, it's harmless to do a TB cleaning.

wow that's nice thanx for the tip ... but unfortunately I already bought the grease that everyone else recommended which was High Temp Lithium based grease ... I'm planning on doing it tomorrow so I'll post after I'm done ... I will also take pictures of the whole thing and do a write up ....

ok finally did the starter today ... it wasn't that bad at all ... the hardest part in my opinion was getting the 2 bolts off, they required a lot of manual torque ... lol ... I'm in class right now, but when I get out I'll do the write up with the pictures ...
