Any draw backs to running test pipe?
I have a spare max sitting around that i am looking to turn into a autocrosser. I have been looking at hi flow cats, and such, and i see test pipes everywhere.
Are there any drawbacks to running one? Will it mess up any sensors, will any gains be seen?

'99 cali-spec. Been running a test pipe for 2 years and around 30-40k miles. No CEL and still running my stock O2s. factory cat-back and warpspeed y. The sound is slightly more raspier when it's cold. As far as smell, well it smells more like exhaust.. but I was also getting a rotten egg smell when I was heavy on the pedal which I no longer get. As far as gains go, it's definately there but it's probably due to the y-pipe I put in at the same time.

actually spark-plug anti-foulers are cheaper and allow u to have the rear 02 sensor intact...what they do is prevent the carbon from biulding up and fooling the 02 sensor into thinking all is well behind the cat...EVO guys use them heres a link and they are readily availble at any parts store
