Reverse Lights

Hey y'all. My reverse lights don't work and the bulbs are good. Is there a switch or sensor that triggers the lights? Where can I find it?
5-speed tranny
Thanks

A first guess would be the switch that everyone uses to drain their tranny.

what you need to do is rev up your car to 4.75k and then lightly tap the shifter into 1st gear without the clutch. The noise it makes isn't bad, it's simply your car repairing the tailights..

seriously, we told you nissan were the best cars ever.

Thanks for your replies. I'll just do some more research and find out for myself.

OK so back to serious replies now. Fr33way is right, if you have a 5spd, look at the reverse/neutral switch. Thats the switch that turns on the reverse lights. Its a sensor thats at the bottom of the transmission with a wire harness coming out of it. DRAIN THE TRANNY BEFORE REMOVING IT, otherwise you will have a gear oil facial at hand.

Autos Im not so sure if the sensor is also at the bottom, or at the gear selector, or some mombo jumbo device, I stay away from autos for a good reason, lol
