back firing noise from exhaust help?

back firing noise from exhaust help?

well i reset the ECU resterday since my light CEL was on giving me 0102 code but the car ran fine and the light went off now the car idles perfect but out of no where today the car while in (d) at a light the car jerked and made a back fire noise from the exhaust, help me??????? firends tell me it sounds like symptoms of running rich and that since my CEL went off from resetting it the ECU went into ghost mode and maybe i do need to replace me MAF, help me guys.

it is so damn wierd perfect idle and car runs great than while in heavy traffic a big jerk and a loud deep bang out of the exhaust???

u think it is still the MAF i mean i hope its just that bc the car runs fine other than the rare backfire. I did scare the crap out of everyone in the car they thought someone hit me from the back, lol

shut up, well the car has back fired a total of 4 times in the past 24 hours about 175 miles worth of driving and traffic

Could be a sticking exhaust valve. It is usually unburnt fuel in the exhaust system that ignites causing a backfire.

could it be that seafoam stuff that you were talking about. did you put that in yet?

so the backfireing seems to have stopped and i haven't put a new MAF in so then i went to advanced auto parts to see what there obd2 diagnositc said and it revealed no codes so i'm just going to stick with it it a broke don't fix it, so it the back fireing has stopped i'm not gong to mess with it.
