Fog light installation

Hi all,

It is my understanding that all 95-99 Maximas, regardless of the trim, come prewired for foglights. Those cars that do not come with foglights stock, do not have the headlight switch with the foglight ring.

My question is as follows:

I have a 99 GXE that did not come with foglights. If I purchase a set of foglights, I should be able to just bolt them in and hook them up to the exsiting wiring that should be int he space where the foglights go, correct?

Also, if I purchase the headlight switch assembly from say a 97-99 SE/GLE which did come with foglights, the folight ring should be able to turn on the foglights as if it came like that from the factory, correct?

And finally - are the foglights independant from the headlights? Or must I have the headlights on in order to get the foglights to light up?

Thanks!

Yes.

Sorta. You are also gonna need a factory relay that goes in the engine bay.

And no, The fog lights are not independant the low beams must be on for you to turn them on and off the ring on the stalk.
I have a COMPLETE set for sale. Used. 2 fogs, 2 brackets, stalk and relay. PM me.

double check to be sure ur car did indeed come pre wired... i have heard statements before saying not all maximas came pre wired

just look up in ur bumper cover where the fog lights go for a harness not hooked into anything

i installed fogs on my 95 gxe that came without fogs... it was a simple process except for the fact my 95 bumper didnt have the holes cut out
