Weekend Engine Cleaning
I was thinking about using Seafoam in the intake manifold to wash that stuff out. I am thinking that shady may have dirtied the aic valve with the washed off gunk. You should go to Harbor Freight and pick up a cheap torque wrench and look to the Haynes manual for torque specs. Be very cautious of bolts threaded into aluminum! You could also use a LIGHT coat of gasket sealant on the new gasket when you reinstall it. Send me an e-mail if you need me to look up anything for you. Paul

Is your idle still messed up? I had this same issue, and I fixed it. There is a hose, short, about 5 inches long, with a white plastic peice on the end. That snaps into a blue peice on the engine. Here is a pic. When I did this, I had a friend help me. He found the hissing, that hose, and pushed it on really tight, and that stopped the idling problem.

Shouldn't be a problem for you if you do it right the first time.
