question on 9004 bulbs

what are the brightest (best?) bulbs i can get for 9004. obviously i would have to stay within the 65/45 Wattage. piaas are overpriced. seems from past threads that xtravisions are good? i just wanna get some nice bright *** lights for 9004. xenon filled bulbs? well let me know

you want the best bulbs but dont wanna pay the highest price (piaa) so what is the thread about? you want a mid-range priced bulb with the best output..
i hate when people ask for the best but don't want to fork over the money for the best.

good bulbs are silverstar's i saw the silverstar ultra's but i never seen them in usage. 9007's will be better then most 9004 if not all. i went from 9004 silverstars to 9007 silverstars within a month and i problay wont go back unless i sell the car to make it easier for the new person.

No bulb other than the Xtravision is any good. You cant get any good 9004 bulbs because they are pretty much the worst bulb out there and only used in the US. No compainies make good 9004 bulbs because of this. Stick with clear glass bulbs, no silly colors since they dont help visability. A slight over watt bulb with new wiring may help, but be advised of the excess heat from them.

^ i actually might start agreeing with you stutter. i remember a couple of times in the rain. my silverstars weren't there at all. they were weak. but great at night in clear weather oh man they are nice compared to 9004 stockers and ricer bulbs.

i might try a set of xtravisions if i ever see them on sale. i've always gotten my silverstars for 25$...

Here we go again...
xtravisions are the best period. silver stars and any other halogen that puts silly tints on them to simulate higher color temperatures effectively reduces the amount of lumens (brightness).

^ there are no electrics really involved. but if you simply want a plug and play kit let me know. i have a spare one made with high-temp connectors, its a DIRECT plug and play since i already crossed the wires needed to run a 9004-9007 conversion. this is not the ones with relays.

Ok, swapping is pretty easy. If you buy a kit online you still need to swap the high and ground wires on the stock harness I believe. You could also make your own harness. That's what I did. Cheaper than buying a kit if you have some materials. Bulbs...everyone likes xtravisions. I actually use silverstars tho. I like silverstars and have had no problems whatsoever with the ones I've had in my cars. Output is very good for me. Go with xtravisions since they are cheaper. The only difference is really that the silverstars give a whiter light than the xtravisions.

As for the newb post....just search the stickies so people don't need to explain it to you.

Lets just put it this way, I had Wagner TruViews (ever so slight purple tint) and my buddy had Silver Stars. Against the wall mine were brighter. I went out and got the Xtravisions and they were much brighter. I have had tons of different brands and will never go back to anything else. But I do like the color of the TruViews the most, but the tint does reduce the output. If you do want color Silver Stars are OK, but when its raining good luck seeing.

Wagner BriteLite's are worth looking into, they seem to be another decent light.
