Ok here the short Story. I had too sell my 91 SE last year . Don't ask cause thats the long story. Anyways I found a 98SE , Auto, Convience package , with 104.302 miles on it at a dealer. There asking 12,100 dollars for it and won't budge. Is this a deal or a nightmare waiting to happed in the nextt 30 or 40 k miles... I'm fully aware they go to 200 even 300. My 91 had 200k when I sold it to the kid down the street. Its just that 12k for a car with over 100k..... Help me out guys....

I would offer them 10k. They are just asking tough by sayng they won't budge. If they really want to get rid of it, they give it to your for 10k.

The guy at the lot near my house has a '96 GLE with 59K and the "asking" price is around $12K. I would rather get an older car with less milage than a newer with more. And you are right, buying a car with a high milage can be a headache- it's one thing when you put them on while taking good care of the car, and another when it was done by someone else...
PS I got my '96 GLE with 74K at the auction 3 months ago for just over 9K.

just keep in mind that most of those miles are probably highway considering the car was driven somewhere around 30k a year. Knowing this i wouldn't worry about the milage, but rather check the condition to make sure it was maintained properly.

When i first looked at it, i thought the price was very high, but then i did research on it, and i'll be damned but he's giving you an average price. 11 or 10 would be alot better. but do you really want to spend 12g's on a car that has been driven over the 100k mile mark? i wouldn't, plain and simple.

Maxima's are good for a lot more than 100K miles. I say if you can get the price down than grab it.

You will probably be able to get a 2001 GXE in 3 months for about 17k, brand new!
