quick question

my battery light and my brake light are both on and i know that it usually means the alternator is bad but i got that checked and its fine...and also the light will go off when i rev the engine past a certain rpm.....what could this mean???

Who checked your alty? I am having the same issue, just mine is a bit worse(the light coming on). My mechanic said that it is the alty, even though it tests fine, that one of the diodes is messed up, causing the lights.

it means your alt is gone.

well it was an autozone alty...and i had them check it first and they said it was good and they still gave me a new one just to make sure it wasnt the alty...

increased spin upped the voltage enough to turn the light off. if you measure it at idle the voltage is prob sub 11. or there abouts. a system would also add to that drain.

so what can i do to make it always charge were it should be....and my system is unhooked until i figure out the problem... could it be the UDP???

its not 100% guaranteed to be the alt but i am 90% sure from what you have stated. if it is, your only option is to pretty much put in a new/rebuilt one.
