Whats up guys, it's been awhile. I park in a college uprise parking lot, so there are a lot of immature kids (freshman) running around. Recently, someone snapped my radio antenna, but the wires are still connected to the car. It's still functional, but I have a feeling it's going to go out anytime. I have no idea what to do. Do they sell replacement antenna, or do I have to buy the complete radio system from another Maxima owner? Thanks.


This really sucks because my Bose CD Player died on me about a year ago. I've been listening to the radio since then. Being without ANY music would really, really suck.

pepboys has replacement ones for about 15$. they happen to look exactly the same as ours

 

When I bought my first maxima from a dealer the antenna was broken off. They said they would fix if for free. I could still hear the motor trying to raise or lower the antenna. So they just put a new shaft and it worked fine. I don't remeber what it would have cost but can't be too bad.

 

You guys are sweet. I was hoping I didn't have to go out and blow $200 or so on this. That'd be dippin too far into my beer fund :-D

it's fine, no real loss.. i could pick up better reception if i install an internal antenna, but they all look

 

write up for the shaved antenna? i currently have the same problem with my maxima, so i was hoping to shave the antenna and do the internal antenna.

 

honestly, u dont even need an antenna. my 96 had its antenna snap when it went through the car wash with the radio on, lol. it hasnt had an antenna since 98 or 99. reception is perfect. im thinking of ripping out the antenna on the 97 i just bought b/c now it just looks funny with an antenna.

 

antennas look good, thats it, i love having my power antenna go up and down

i duno why, but i think its cool, look at brand new vehicles coming off assembly lines, they dont even have any antennas at all, they are embedded in the rear window under the seal somewhere, and look at BMWs the new 745 have some kinda weird shark fin or fish tale hook thingy on the back of the rooftop, cmon that looks wierd,

what about those permanent black antennas that always stick out of ur car, those are the ugliest, they are soft and sway back during highway driving, or back and fourth if u stop very quickly. the aluminum or stainless steel or whatever maxima power antenna sways wayyyy less

maxima is a gangster ride, its the ultimate sleeper!!!

ok i know the antenna has nothing to do with this but i just had to mention thats it looks gangster especially with tinted windows and dark or black rims, THATS IT, no other mods required

 

okay first of all. if they snapped your antenna you are going to need to replace all of your stereo system.
2nd of all. shaved antenna ftw.


dont listen to andrei3333. because R/C car lookin antennas are NOT cool. they just arent. maybe if you hook a little led to the end of it and get some for your windsheild wiper sprayers too...then THAT would be cool. be lookin like a little toy car.

u DONT have to replace ur whole stereo if ur antenna is broken, who told u that ? another post?
