Balancing Issues

I've been having some balancing issues, see my tires are still under warranty and when I take them to get balanced for free @ Goodyear they always leave a tire unbalanced and I can feel a "thump thump thump" coming from one of them, last time was the rear driver side tire and now it's the front driver side tire, when I had it balanced they gave me a sheet saying that all my tires were balanced. So now i'm gonna take it back and have them balance it again. Anyone else have these issues, cuz the way I figure it is that they do it on purpose so tires wear out quicker so i'll have to buy new tires from them, BASTARDS!!

Or is there something else I should look for? I already inspected front shocks/springs and they are fine.

On a side note i'm in the market for a Budget SS Y-pipe, anyone here selling one? PM me.

It may be the tires, my uncle complains about his warriors all the time. Not only does it howl like crazy, it thumps on perfectly good road. It seems all warriors suck as my cousins have them and they suck. No problem with my sumitomo srixon4 or htr h4 yet.

How do the tires look? If you can hear and FEEL a thumping noise from the tires, then balancing will not fix that. As far as why from different sides, I would assume the tires were rotated.
So check for flat spots and "bumps" on the tires. If they're ok, I'd find a differet shop and pay for a decent balance.

It could be the tire, tire balancing, or a bent rim.

i have no reason to believe the rim is bent

i don't notice any bumps on the tire either.

I had a similar issue with my '96. After trying several different garages, did a search and found the solution. Its called "force balance". Not many garages have this speciallized equipment, but my local Honda dealer does, and it solved my problems. The force balance places the wheel/tire against a roller and detects any variations in tire and wheel combination and compansates with weights or the technician has to remount the tire appropriately. Do a search for info, it might do the trick.

Brand, model and size of the tire your having trouble with might help this thread.
From what you've posted, it's most likely not a balancing issue but rather a tire or rim problem.

Usually when your balance is off, instead of hearing or feeling the "thump", when driving, you will get more of a steering wheel shake when going a certain speed and your foot on the gas...
The Thump feel or sound could be caused because of the tires, or wheels being bent, but when getting the wheels balanced, they would know if the wheels are bent therefore they would tell you. I really believe that it's not the balance....
I put the money on the tires.... Check it out, hope this helps.

but they probably wouldn't tell me it's the tires because if they did they'd have to replace them for free, since they are still under warranty, they'd just hope that I believe them when they tell me everything is ok.

I'm running Goodyear Regatta 2
