High-Flow Cat...
High-Flow Cat...
i just replaced the whole exhaust but couldnt get the very rusted cat off the stock exhaust so i utilized the free test pipe from budget for now. but id prefer to have a cat. my question is will a high flow cat from ebay do its job? will it fit? id rather have new components than to have a rusty old cat with 150k+ miles on it. also, im not interested in any performance gains or anything like that, just something legal to take the test pipe's place.
I'm having the same problem with solid rusted cat. converter. This is why I can't replace my y-pipe. I think those cheap ebay high flows are pretty much like test pipes. You can't pass the emission test with those. I started saving $120 for a new cat.
If there is nothing actually wrong with your cat. Cut off the bolts, pound out the rusted studs and put in new ones. If you want a new cat. Get a hi-flow from warpspeed. THey are cheap and pass smog.

I also have a Warpspeed cat. It easily bolted up to my LSS y&b pipes.
Comes w/flange gaskets & bolts.
The Carsound one is a Magnaflow universal cat. When I talked to Dallas at Warpspeed, he said there's no big difference between the cats. I just got the one from Carsound, and it was a direct bolt on w/all gaskets& bolts. No problems with it.
