Tranny Cooler

My tranny is being rebuilt this week and I want to add a tranny cooler afterwards (Christmas gift). I'm looking at b&m and they have so many different sizes and all. Based on GVW and I'm not sure which one I should use. Here's the link to the site for B&M stuff:
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...10002_26787_-1

I was guessing to go with a 7.5"x 12". There is also Hayden Tube & Fin, Hayden Transaver, TRU-Cool. Just not sure what to look for.
Here's the link for the other coolers:

Thanks for the help. If you have other suggestions that would be great too.

I wouldn't worry too much about brands. Just adding, even a small one, will be so much better than adding none. I would go by price. I think I added the Hayden 1404 to my '96 Max but I decided to buy a 1403 for my '99 only because I wanted one a little smaller because I also placed a heat-exchanger up there for my Water to Air AfterCooler. I think if you read the box, you'll see thet a 1402 is for a mid-size car not towing. A 1403 is for a mid-size car towing and a 1404 is for a big truck or RV. So, I guess buy the biggest you can afford/fit but I wouldn't go above the 1404. Did you see the 'modifactions' section in the 'shop talk'? I think they install a 1404 (the link doesn't seem to work right now). Good luck.

I got the 401 locally for about $30 from O'Reilly's, with employee discount.

The hayden's are really cheap and can easily be damaged (bent fins). The B&M has more features and is a alot better of a product, definitely worth the extra money in my opinion especially if you race alot or beat on it alot like I do.

I'll post some up tomorrow. They give you tons of brackets and zip ties to mount it basically anyway you want.

the SVX has three issues, tranny over heat is one of them. But it is easy to tell how great it is. In the winter the car would take about 5-7 minutes of driving to get the tranny locked in (150f for the over drive), with the cooler, it takes me almost 25 minutes of driving!

That is just an amazing improvement.

I will be putting one on the max soon. Hope that helps.
