Lacking power @ mid to high range

Lately it been strange driving and power feels like it is there one day and then it feels slow as a snail on another day. There are no code but i feel that the coils or knock sensor could be the culprit. I also thought about the maf sensor since I change one for a friend and told me that car ( 2001 maxima ) felt much faster @ the mid to high rpm range. Has anybody felt this situation with their max or I30?

The reason why the 2001 maxima felt faster top end than your car is because the 5th gen have a better IM that produce more power top end thus why some 4th genners put the 5th gens IM to get better power top end. sorry no periods, i was typing with one hand cause i have sandwich in other.

I was not trying to compare, just stating that my car feels sluggish @ certain times. There are times when my mid and top end feel normal but I wil look @ getting the 5th gen IM.

If you think you know the problem then check them so you can tell us. It helps people on here and you narrow down the problem. Measure the ks and the coils and see if they are at the correct rating.

[QUOTE=NmexMAX]Where's the dyno to confirm this said power loss?[/QUOTEI really hate the term "butt dyno" but that is where I feel the loss.
When I am on the highway I notice it the most or during spirited driving.

I have 156,000 miles on my car and do not think the knock or maf sensor has been changed.

A cat going bad or a dirty fuel filter are some easy things to check that can cause that problem.

change the fuel filter. change the knock sensor. i am trying to get a group deal going for the knock sensor since i need 2 myself, but cant start a thread in the section. buy a can of electrical cleaner and clean the MAF. also buy a can of throttle body cleaner and clean the throttle body and IACV. those are easy cheap things to start with (KS isnt cheap). I cleaned my EGR pipe today and it wasnt completely clogged but there was some buildup. i wouldnt suggest you do it unless you are very patient.

KS is cheap enough. It's only $64 on ebay. I think I already told you that.

and as i told you already in another thread the $64 ones on ebay are not from Nissan. They are brown-box.

they're OEM Nissan parts...they just come from someone other than the dealer....go ahead and try to get a group deal for $100 ks. See if more people want the $64 or not.

well seeing how pinnacle has them for $83 + shipping, your point is pretty much invalid. they are NOT nissan parts. they are made by someone else to OEM specs (but that doesnt mean they match performance/quality).

Hey - I'm in for a knock sensor. I changed my spark plugs/fuel filter/air filter and the car still seem sluggish. I have 120K and want to treat her right! Also had a heck of a time replacing one of the fog light bulbs!!!
