How much do i expect to pay?
I need both of my drivers side and passanger side axles replaced they click like a ****, i live on the southside of chicago i was going to take my car to firestone right next to my house after i get out of school (Im at school right know) and after that i was gonna take my car to a few other places but i was wondering how much will i be paying for the parts and labor. like a general estimate if any of you guys had this done i hope its not like more then 500$ cuz i need money for my cocaine habit aka clothes

Most shops will probably charge you $200-$225 per side (for a basic replacement axle). Do you have the ability to do the work yourself? If so, you could purchase Raxles, still be at ~$400.00 (after core return) and have a great set of performance axles.

find stock replacements from a rebuilding company and get them installed...reubuilding places usually charge less cause they do the rebuilding and not the install. There is a place like that near my house and axles are like $75-$100 each...I would do it yourself, it's pretty easy...then just go for an alignment

Firestone and mutli-state companies try and mess with people aswell as there cars. I wouldn't go to a shop like that. Private shops or Private mechanics is the best way to go.
My mechainc charges me about 100 to replace both the axles, but if i need the seals replaced that's another 100 because the pass side seal is a PITA!!!

My mechanic replaced the whole thing including the CV boots, by the way...while your mechanic is at it have him check the wheel bearings and other craps....might as well replace them along if needed instead of paying for the labor again in near future.

there are 2 ways to do it. pending if the damage is still fresh you can always re-boot and grease. this way parts only cost 50$ or less. or since its clickling you problay need an axle thats gonna be a little more pricey.

yea its been clicking since the beginning of summer 06" so yea anyways update: they fixed th axles everything rides smooth and call my exhaust still makes a rattling noise when idle and when i get to 4K RPM so they did not take of the heat shield like i told them to do I'm gonna go back there and get this resolved other then that my car is in tip top shape.
