So when i have the ignition in the on position, and the car is not running, there is a ticking noise, in i guess 3 beat intervals. I unhooked the iac and it stopped, any reason for this? When i unplugthe grey plug from the iac it stops.

 

ideas anyone?

 

took off my throttle body, IAC Valve and small EGR pipe to clean them. was rushing and forgot to tighten the bolts on the IAC Valve. started it up and there was flashing and a ton of noise. turned the car off but left the car in the on position. same noises you were hearing. once tightened it went away. only thing i can think of is either a) somehow your bolts became loosened or b) perhaps the gasket has developed a leak. pull it off and check for either of those 2. clean it with TB cleaner while you are at it.
