Rough running and 0301 ECU code
Rough running and 0301 ECU code
Sorry, nothing to see here. Move along...
I didn't know the scan tool codes and check engine light flashes are different. P0301 is 0608 in flashes, and that is a cylinder 1 misfire, which makes sense.
Previously, now my irrelevant post
Hi all,
My parents Maxima is intermittently running rough and flashing the check engine light. They have taken it to the shop twice now; both times the mechanic reported a 0301, which I see is a general ECU fault.
The first time the mechanic tried swapping coils around and it temporarily ran better, but the issue returned. The only previous problems with this car have been 2 dead fuel injectors, which the ECU correctly diagnosed with the respective cylinder misfire codes.
Does anyone have general insights on what could be the issue? ECU problems are exceedingly rare. Could multiple dead fuel injectors or coils cause the ECU to not be able to diagnose a specific cylinder misfire and report it as a general ECU fault?
Are there any tests yall would recommend running? Thursday I will be there and can try to diagnose it by the FSM, but some advanced insights would be helpful.
Thanks, Colin.
