Help! Smells like AntiFreeze

A couple days ago, i turned the heat on and it smelled like AntiFreeze, it wasnt sharp but a dull smell. From what i know it does that on cold days. I haven't smelled it ever since then. What could it be? Could the Heater Core be going, or could it be a hose that's leaking?

if it gets cold where you are, you don't wanna know 'bout by-passing the heater core. you wanna fix it. but since you asked real nice and all i'll tell you. first be sure the engine is cool and no pressure is in the cooling system, i.e. remove the cap put it back, then disconnect both heater hoses from the heater core at the firewall, insert a short piece of pipe into the heater hoses to join them. clamp them and top off the radiator. you have just by-passed the heater core. no more warm air to clear the windshield or stop your teeth from chattering on those COLD winter morns.
