HID fog light recommendations?

I'm finally going to replace my stolen fog lights. I've decided to put hid's in them but I also want them to be yellow. So I was going to do one of the following:

1. Just pick up a 3,000k h3 hid conversion kit.

2. Pick up an h3 conversion kit, (not sure what temp. would be best) and install the yellow capsules in the fog housings.

I don't know if I should go with the second option cause it might be overkill compared to the first option. I don't really know much about hid's yet and I don't know if the 3,000k will give off the yellow that i'm looking for. Any recommendations or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you have the time not the money, go with mod with yellow lexus capsules.

But if you have the money not the time, ebay sells the fog light housing with yellow glass.

I dont suggest the yellow ons off ebay.

I spent $130 and they cracked in 3 days. The heat from the glass and the rain made them instantly pop. This is even with the 55w bulbs they provide.

That's because it's a good idea. HIDs in the stock fog housings would have rediculous glare.

HID capsules don't have a wattage rating, ballasts do.

To the starter of this thread, I'm not entirely sure the yellow capsules will fit over a standard HID capsule (non-mini-H3). Do a search for geo1317 (might have the #'s wrong), I believe he did a setup like that.

Thanks for the info. I found the mini h3 hid kits. I think they are h3c but i'm not sure. Techone makes a kit. Haven't found any other kits from a company i've heard of. What temp rating would you guys suggest I use if I go with the yellow capsules?

I think I'm going to try the yellow capsule mod. It's less work than the projector mod. I like the way my headligths are setup with the amber corners and bumpers and clear head and fogs. I'm not sure the yellow mod will look to good tho. Any thoughts?

Honestly, I don't think yellow fogs look very good without HID headlights. Just my opinion, though.

Thanks for the input Pat. I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking of doing 6000k 9007 HIDs later. I'll rethink the yellow fogs at that time I guess.

Personally I think that if you are doing the Capsule mod, since your in there why not just do it right and do the Projectors while your there?

Because projectors arnt cheap. I havnt found them for cheap yet. It's much more work then doing capsules. There is a whole list of reasons...thats like saying someone wants to do a MEVI install. While you're in there get a 3.5. Ok maybe not that much...

I would not personally know but the heat shield inside my stock I30t's fog lights looks like it blocks a great deal of glare.

Can't HID work well (and not blind other drivers) without using projectors??
