Repair Fog Lights / Where to buy

How long does fog light replacement (complete lens and reflector) replacement take for an experienced DIY? I need to know if this is a quick "do it from the outside in 10 mins" job or if it's a "dig around behind the bumper for an hour reaching difficult fasteners" job. If there's an on-line guide/pointer, that would help.

Also, is there a place to buy factory lights at a reasonable price, that would be great.

Thanks,

The lights for a 4th gen are usually expensive no matter where you get them, about $100 each or more is average; more expensive from the stealership. I installed the complete kit including cutting out the bumper and installing the swithch on a GLE in about an hour and a half and I wasn't in a hurry. If all you have to do is replace the fixture, I'd say under half an hour.

I just need the lens that goes over the actual fog light.
Have any ideas on where I would be able to find this?

Best bet is a junkyard if you really don't want to spend too much money.

Well you need the fog itself. You can't just get a lens. It's a 2 minute job. Unless you don't know anything you're doing. Take off the cap and remove the bolts. Pull out fog and disconnect harness. Replace in opposite order.

Junkyard or in the classifieds. My guess is classifieds are better. More chance people will sell them for cheap off parted cars. Look in there.

IMO i think your best bet is to get one's of ebay. My driver side fog was cracked when i bought it. Took me 8 months to find and OEM replacement, but i got it for 30 bucks with a bulb, bracket, bolts, screws, and the plastic cap Took me 5min to install it after i got them.

I bought it from the Classified section!
