Blown fuse? Or worse?

It was a blown fuse: the one in the upper right quadrant of the cabin box highlighted in white and marked "ELEC PARTS" (one of three fuses so marked).

Amazing how many different things are connected to one fuse.

Thanks for the help.

----------------

I had my fuel filter replaced today, and the mechanic who did it forgot to reconnect the MAF harness. Of course, when he saw the CEL, he reconnected it...but I don't know if the engine was running at the time or not.

Anyway, after reconnecting it, the CEL stayed on. He tried to "reset" it by disconnecting the battery, but it stayed on.

I'll check what code it throws tomorrow, but I thought that one of you could tell me what is causing the following problems:

First of all, the light to the clock is off. Next, the anti-theft is not working, also. The multi-remote does not work nor does the Home Link. And, every time I turn the car off and back on, the trip odometers have been reset.

Are these all connected to the BCM, or some other control module? Could just the fuse (or fuses) be blown?

What code do you think the scanner will throw?

Thanks.

You can pull the code(s) yourself just using a screwdriver, and reset the CEL the same way. The engine would've been running for the CEL to come on about the MAF if it was disconnected.

Have you checked any of your fuses at all, or did you post here first? Check the 'electronics' fuse in the cabin fuse box, as well as anything else that looks like 'electronic parts' or whatever. Those fuses control a damn lot in our cars...

PMOHR, the first thing I did was check the fuse box in the cabin, but I did not know which fuse to pull because my manual did not make it clear which one it is and the labelling did not help.

That is, until you said "electronics."

There are three 7.5A fuses marked, "ELEC PARTS," in the cabin box, but only one of the three is highlighted in white, and it just so happens to be located in the upper right quadrant of the cabin fuse box, and isolated from the other fuses.

(Which made me wonder, in retrospect, why the Service Manual did not point that one out?)

Of course, did I try that one first? Nope. I thought I'd look at the other two first, and they were fine. When I pulled the upper right one, I could see that it was clearly blown.

I replaced it with the spare in the box and all is well (I hope).

The CEL is still on, but it will probably throw a MAF harness code if I were to check. I'll disconnect the battery for awhile and see if that will clear it.

If not, I'll take it over to AutoZone around the corner from me.

Thanks for the advice.
