Recently I was having issues with mid to top end power, then after that my starter making its usual noise for the winter. Well my car stop starting right in front of my repair shop when I was opening the store ( what luck ) last week so I changed the starter. I brought a new aftermarket starter that was labeled " permenant magnet coil" oppose to the oem starter which is a "field coil" starter. I was a little skeptical on buying an aftermarket starter but the infinti/nissan dealer in my area was out of stock and needed a day to ship the new one to my job, so I went with the aftermarket unit. Long story short the aftermarket starter fit in perfectly and starts the car with no funny noise in the morning. Also while I was changing the starter I cleaned my throttle body and maf sensor. I also got rid of air hog fram filter and place a regular fram filter inside. Now she feels 100% better than before. I might change the knock sensor soon but for now everthing is back to normal.

It was new and I purchased it @ 10% above cost since I work for a repair shop. Retail is $299 though. It does sound different when starting the vehicle but it gives a strong start on the first try unlike the aging orignal starter.
