right now my battery is disconnected, since i'm doing some work with the door panels and such. i know that when i put it on, the factory alarm can possibly go off. i have a 96 gxe and it didn't come with a keyfob, so the only way i can turn it off is if i unlock all of the doors with teh double click with the key.
does anyone know what causes the alarm to go off? i was experimenting one day and i conncted the door panel's power locks wiring (the white little box with all of the holes) and as i tried to disarm the alarm with the "double click", it worked. without the door panel connected, the alarm would never turn off, no matter what i did (so i had to disconnect the battery again).
can anyone explain the mechanisms of this cheap factory alarm? because i would really like to know how it works and what activates it to go off..thanks.
and on a different subject, when you torque your wheels, what is the procedure? slighly tighten them while the car is jacked, then FINISH tightening them with the torque wrench once the car is down? or...just torque the lugs while the car is in mid air? thanks
