How difficult is it to install a tranny cooler? I have been looking into it recently and would like to know how difficult it is and some of the best brands. Does the cooler come with all necessary components for connection (lines, brackets, etc.) or will i need to purchase extra accessories. Never done this kind of job before so I don't know what to expect. I'm decent under the hood, but I'm just wondering what kind of task i'll be getting myself into. Any input on this would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Thanks man, that really helps out a lot....doesn't look too complicated either. Just ordered a B&M SuperCooler today, so we'll see what happens. I appreciate the help.

Let us know how the B&M installs. I heard from another member that it was difficult due to the limited space up front. If it goes fine then I'll take the plunge and pick one up too.

The tranny cooler install is pretty simple. You may need some extra hose. About 4 feet of extra hose maybe. I got mine installed in about 30 min.

You do need more hose ->

Make sure you get the hose that are made for running hot fluild. They have thicker walls. Don't just buy your regular vacuum hose. Make sure you tight down those hose clamps good and check for leaks right away. I didn't at first and they were leaking like a ****. I tried to use those plastic mounting straps, but they turned out to be harder to use. I used the metal brackets instead that came with my kit. I got the Fluidyne ATF cooler that I picked up at AutoZone.

I installed the B&M in my car without a problem. I bought the biggest one that Jeg's had that still had barbed hose connections. I didn't have to buy any hose, they provided plenty.

One of the things I like about the B&M is that the hose connections are on the bottom instead of the side. Also, it's painted black so it blends in better.

Sinewave....

Just wondering where you put the B&M. Did you mount it in front of the radiator like the Hayden cooler? Any pics? Thanks!

This is about the only pic I've got right now. You can see the top of the a/t cooler just to the right of center.

Install would've been a snap if I hadn't had that damn supercharger keeping the radiator from moving. Good thing I have small hands... ;-)
