clunk clunk clunk on the right side...

mine does this as well. i was thinking it was either my control arm bushing or my strut mount. after hearing you guys replacing EVERYTHING on that side, perhaps is the body mounts? maybe like the engine craddle moving around.. its common on the trucks i work on (chevy) to make creaks and such and its the body mounts.. of course they have a frame and whatnot, but its possible. i'm going to look more into mine now and see what i can come up with - just as soon as i get my new poly control arm bushings

You can recreate the sound when the car is stopped. I've found that it only clunks when going over multiple bumps, not a single bump. I can get my front right to make the sound it I bounce up and down on the right right corner of my car. I read somewhere that it is the coil hitting the turned end of the coil, I haven't looked at the top of mine yet, but I see the bottom end of the coil has a sleave on it, maybe the sleave wore off on the top causing the metallic-y clunking sound when going over a rough road.

For those who only have the problem going over bumps not turning; Have you checked along the exhaust system? A while back on my 98 there was a splash guard piece that corroded away and for a while was sort of hanging there and would clunk when I hit a bump or when the wind underneath was enough to make it flap.
