y pipe question

so i installed my budget y pipe today and had a few questions. is it normal to sound all bee buzzing with a stock exhaust? also it backfires is that ok? and will a catback eliminate that bee sound?

Catback will not eliminate this since the bees in the can noise it's located at the y pipe itself, which at the front of the cat. correct me if i'm wrong.

The bees in the can sound you hear is the air going by the flex section inside the y-pipe. The only way to eliminate that is to get a "lined" flex section made and put in, or replace the Y-Pipe. My old one had that sound and I was soo fed up with it, so I got an entirely new y-pipe

Make sure your flex section is straight, & there are no bends in it!
Had the same problem, but not anymore.

Nothing ghetto about the flex section...it's a lined flex section...not like the old ones...make sure all your gaskets are new, and like I stated before, make sure it's supported by a hanger or something so it doesn't hang down.

ive had no problems with my warpspeed. damn f550maranello2 were always conflicting...dynomax...warpspeed..what else hahha. I think y-pipes seem to be hit or miss with bees in the can noise/ build quality. My warpspeed unit was welll built, ive had no problems with it.

The backfiring is from the car running rich. Correct if I am wrong, but that is most likely because you have a decent leak coming off of the exhaust manifold. The air escapes, thus not hitting the O2 sensor which in turn informs the car to run more rich to compensate. Make sure they actually installed the new crush gaskets.

i was doing it myself and it was leaking, so i jacked it up last night and tried to get a nut off and guess what? it pulled my hole ****ing bolt from my manifold off. so i had to tow it to a shop. pretty sweet.

have to wait another two days for nuts and gaskets to come in. the ones budget sent me were smashed... and i have to drive like a grandma cuz if i give it just a lil too much, it sounds like my car is going to fall apart. on top of that, its cold here and i have to drive with windows down cuz the exhaust leaks before my cat and into my car. anyone else have installation problems with their budget?
