Frozen plastic in Maine

so my roommate and I get back to our apartment from the library, and he gets out and tries to open my trunk by grabbing the spoiler and pulling on it. All I hear is this loud CRACK. So I walk around to the back of the car, and the spoiler is hanging off of the trunk on one side. Pulled the plastic tabs right out of the spoiler. Also pulled the screws out of the spoiler on one side. I never even popped the trunk, the moron though it was open. How can someone be so dumb? Now I don't know what to do, epoxy the screws and tabs back into the spoiler? Sorry 'bout the rant.

sounds like a splendid idea chariot, however, I'm not paying $600 just for a CF trunk lid. Instead, I'm going to pay $600 on a perfectly balanced, titanium Louisville Slugger....and then see what it can do to a Nissan Altima (roomie's car)

Time to go to the dealer and possible Home Depot. I have the part numbers for the white tabs and cups, total about $20 for all 8 pieces. Chances are youll need to bust off the remaining middle bolts and JB weld new ones into the wing.

If the spoiler is still in one piece, get a pop riveter (~15 bucks) from the hardware store and rivet that bad boy back on. much better than screws or epoxy.

I'm pretty sure you have no idea what you are talking about. Since the screws ripped out of the plastic on the bottom of the spoiler, there is nothing left to mount the spolier. I have to glue in the screws that ripped out...then get some more tab things to pop the ends back down. What a PITA. I have cancer on the trunk now too. F ckin maine.

you're right. I've never had to take off my spoiler. I thought there would be a least something solid on the bottom to mount it. And don't disrespect Maine. I'm from Maine, at least you don't live in Massachusetts. Trust me, it's worse. Your car would have the same amount of rust and you'd have to deal with some of the worst drivers in the country (maxima owners excluded obviously).

I'm actually from PA originally. Only lived in Maine for 6 years. Rust galore. But yes, Mass sucks too. I'm just going to epoxy everything back into the spoiler and snap it all back on. I care that it looks like crap right now, but don't care enough to go out and buy new parts.
