what does the ecu do for a M/T if anything... im alittle lost on this subject. when you order a ecu from jim wolf, do you get a plug and play replacement for the stock ecu or do you need to send it off to them to have the upgrade installed. any info you have on this subject please share.

I think you have to send in your own. Most people go out and buy another ECU to send out. When they recieve the new one they either keep the old (To pass emissions) or sell it.

The problem many have had with JWT was the turn around time. Some have had to wait up to 6 months for their ecu's to come back to them. If you cant afford such a down time without your car, you can purcahse a junkyard ecu and use that until you'll ecu come in. Or better yet, send them the junkyard ecu so you dont have to yank your current one out.

Many will suggest getting the E-manage ultimate. Its about the same price, but you'll have to do the tuning yourself. If you can do the tuning yourself or take it somewhere to do the tuning, you could (depending on the tune) squeeze out more power than the JWT could think of. If you just want a slightly aggressive tune and dont want to bother with it again. Go the JWT route.

anyone know the price of Anew ECU? I like the idea of buying one and sending that one out verses being stuck with out a car.

A brand new ecu from the dealer will cost you in the $500 ball park range. Best bet would be to get a junkyard ecu and send that to JWT, that way you wont have to touch your car till your JWT comes back.

When I did it, I purchased a junk yard ECU, swapped it with mine real quick and sent MY ECU to JWT so I know im modding something that works. You never really know if your getting a junk ECU from a yard, or an A/T,M/T, different EVAP systems, so on, so on....Just remember to mark your ECU your sending so you know your getting yours back...not marker either...etch it.

you best bet is to find an ecu for sale here on the org. That way you won't have to wait 2 months to get the ecu back
