ill be cruising in 4th or 5th, at ~2800rpm and punch it to the floor, ill feel a misfire or hesitation for maybe 1 second then it goes away. would this be the coils or something else like a tps or maf?

In the old days when we used carberators, the accelerator pump was broke or feeding too much fuel. Usually it was a broken Acc. pump. Sounds like you're running lean when you punch it. Are you gtting enough pressure at the injectors? Possible fuel filter clogging?

a dirty MAF sensor would give you symptoms like that but you would probably be seeing those symptoms in more than 4th and 5th gear.
