Keyless remote won't unlock all doors....help
I tried searching but couldn't find anything.
Lately but not every time I go to unlock my doors to put son in the backseat I've noticed that my passenger side door doesn't unlock all the way. I can't figure it out.
Any ideas on what it could be?

+3 on twice..
only makes sense. if your remote doesn't do it. I know my remote is crap, i sit there pushing it like 15 times and it doesn't get it most of the time. just a bad battery i think in my case. But double pushing it seems like your case.

Just watch how much you push, mine like to roll the windows down a little or all the way (depending on its mood), but NOT unlock the doors. Its almost like it mocks me sometimes.
Time for a new transmitter...if I can find one.(new that is)
But yeah, ummm like they said about the child lock - that too.

Hello AL7601:
I have the same problem with my 98 SE, but only when it's cold out. I assume your weather in NJ is about the same as we have here in Chicago and mine still does it on and off. On my LR door, when I go to use the keyless, the lock lever gets almost all the way open, but when I go to pull the outside door handle, it only unlatches it half way and I have to reach around to move the unlock lever out completely-- sound familiar?
If your remote is working every other time, simply try using the remote with the car in a warm garage or heated building. If it works, then you know the door lock latch needs to be oiled and the remote is fine. But whatever you do, don't simply spray some WD-40 or PB Blaster in there. Those are penetrants and also have a solvent in them. You can try spraying some silicone or squirting some gun oil in there to hopefully free up the sticking parts.
As far as the other members telling you about how to use the remote, if you hold the unlock button for about 10-15 secs, the front windows will roll down, but only as far as you hold the button. To unlock the drivers front door, simply press the button once and release. To unlock the rest of the door, press the button again.
Good luck with that. I haven't gotten around to removing my LR door panel to have better access to the lock assembly, but not having it work correctly is a PITA.
Take care,
Ted, Chicago

With the factory keyless entry systems, When you push the unlock button once, it unlocks the driver door. You have to press the unlock button twice or more to unlock all the doors. It is a safety issue. Also the maximas and I- 30 have an automatic window roll down setup. When you hold the unlock button, the front windows would roll down until you let the button go. So take your time when pressing the unlock buttons. Hope this works.
