96 remote

What does the bottom button do and can you unlock all doors with it?

if by bottom you mean other end from the large grey button, that is the panic button (hold it down to set off the horns and lights. use the unlock button to turn it off). if you want to unlock all of the doors, hit the unlock button twice. if you want to roll down the front windows hit and hold the unlock button. no rollup feature.

What is the bottom button supposed to do anyway? Nothing seems to happen when I hit mine.

If you press and hold it long enough it is supposed to flash your lights and honk your horn. Helps you find your car when you are drunk or in a big parking lot.

On a 95 (at least on my old remote) that button was for the dome light; holding the lock button does panic.

On my fob the grey button locks and the signal lights flash. No horn. The only button that does nothing for me is the panic button with the horn on it. Is it broken?

panic sets of the horns and the lights. lock button only sets off the horns if pressed and the car is already locked in which case the lights will flash once and the horn will beep once.

wtf^^ i've never heard of that, that sounds aftermarket.
there's even how-to's in the stickies on how someone modified their car to make a sound when they press the lock button instead of just the lights flashing.

mine does that, didn't know about the dome-light though might try it.

the fact that they only put a rolldown and not a roll-up seems stupid to me (way to go NISSAN!! )

I have an idea for using a switch and an auto-relay to bypass the signal sent to rolldown the windows to the starter so that when the switch is activated I could use my Fob-key as a remote starter for those cold winter mornings and use the window roll-down in the summer. But i've been swamped with work and have had other issues with more priority in the MAX to deal with it, I'll get to it eventually...

p.S.: Procrastination is a biatch!

i think only 95-96 will beep if you press the lock button while the doors are locked. the car's way of saying "I'm already locked Arsehole!!!"

Haha I aint stupid, I replaced it awhile back and it worked like on and off, then finally stopped. Just 2 seconds ago I bought another one and popped it in, it still don't work. I tryied reprogramming and I also tried unplugging the module and reconnecting.
I donno what it is...

That piezoelectric horn is weak (from the soundbyte)!

i'll go to a junk yard and get a horn (doesn't even have to be from a Maxima) and replace the piezo electric horn for that, should work the same in theory.
