Check It Out..........
So recently i bought another Maxima, a 1997 Maxima GLE Black on Black Leather on November 10 from (spak97max) (highly dont recommend anyone buying anything from him), as some of you may know him from CT. Well i got it for a decent price until i had it shipped down here, and found out there more problems with the car then he had mentioned. There was some cosmetic damage, but was never told about the mechanical repairs that were needed to be done. Finally a month later after filing a police report, i actually got some good news today from the cop about recieving the title for this car. (Basically his name was not on the title and momma's boy was pretty stupid to sign his name on the back. He never picked up any calls ever since day 1 of recieving the car, and all parts he promised were never shipped.) I still see him visiting, and i hope he reads this! So hopefully i will be recieving the title(from his mom after a whole bunch of persuading and explaining from the cop, and since he doesn't know how to do shyt) a day or so before new years eve, and ill finally be able to drive it!!
So now im stuck with replacing all 4 shocks, both AIR BAGS, front and back motor mounts, both axles, a complete tune up, and a transmission flush, a catback, 2 o2 sensors, and possibly all 4 strut mounts, power steering flush, and brake fluid flush. I will still need to check out the front end, and i have been driving it around in my parking lot every other day just so it's not sitting there collecting dust. Now my question to you guys is where should i get these parts and which ones (companys), and i want to leave it pretty much stock with parts that will last. Also what types of fluids/lubricants should i use.

I Understand Your Pain
Hello Bigballa97. I am a newbie and to answer your question I would suggeststhat you hit up ebay and the junkyards. It would save you a lot of money and some heart aches and pain.
Also you said that you want to flush your engine. To save you some money I would put a pint of Kerosene in the engine and drive for about 20 miles. It is important you change the oil immediately after 20 miles because kerosene not only breaks down all the gunk in the engine, it will start to break down the oil. If you think the kerosene is a bit extreme there is this product call Risolone. It will do the same thing like the Kerosene but it is safer than the Kerosene because you can leave Risolone in the engine until the next oil change. You can get the Risolone at Walmart in the automotive section and you may find it a Pep Boys or at a AutoZone.
Also if you get the air bags make sure you get the airbag control module also. That is very important.
The how to sections are real great if you are a do-it-yourselfer. Installing the airbags are very easy. The passenger airbag is not going to be as easy as the driver side. Again check out the do-it-yourself-section or the how to threads. They were helpful for me. Good luck and happy hunting.
