240 exhaust heritage at its best..

I was driving in the lead with a group of friends to our destination and they let me know once there that my exhaust rattles quite a bit. I never noticed, nor by feel or sound from inside or outside the car. However, obviously I wouldn't be in the position to see my rear section when cruising. Anyhow, I tried a few different methods and all seemed to push my muffler up until it was touching my bumper (something I was not hoping for). I kept on trying to zip-tie around the hanger and it just wasn't working. Well, after a quick thought I decided to zip sideways because side to side movement was what needed to be eliminated, the up and down movement not being an issue. In the end this seemed to solve the problem. Anyways, thought I'd share something simple to help out my fellow orger, I'm also sure it's been done many a time before..

Shameless pic of the end result. (Sigh) Cattman FTW.

BCC is my homie..

It has nothing to do with the flawless rear section. Instead, they lame **** OE exhaust hangers. I'll do urethane ones soon..

Okay, it has come to my attention that some orgers do not know how this relates to 240's..

Well, here it is. Typically a 240 is used for drifting which means that at some point you're gonna be hitting things and or tearing things up. Most drifters don't have a lot of money so they zip-tie their mirrors, fenders, grilles and whatever else that's broken back on to save time and money.

I dont think urethane bushings are all that necessary unless you can get them for cheap. My exhaust use to rattle around and I just replaced the bushings with OEM rubber bushings and it was fine. A new rubber bushings is stiff enough, and cheap.

Hate to crash everyones cattman orgy but my sp2 sounds as good as or better than that, ill try to get a vid. But I don't think videocameras give the most accurate sound.

Np dude.. I've heard and tried a few different setups and Cattman is the best. But I mean it's to be expected for the price and R&D.

now I"m serious man, cause thats one of the main reason I haven't gotten a cattman is because of the pics... it looks ricey, but urs look fine, I'm just wondering if that is the standard muffler? or is it a special kind? cause I want to get a cattman

Hey man I got it during the December exhaust sale.. I'm sure all the 97-99 rear sections look the same. The 95-96 is obviously different.

When in doubt call the fawkin man himself B.C.C.

It's not that I think yours will sound bad, but dude I don't even have my B-pipe yet.. This is Cattman rear section with stock B. It has been contended many a time, but if you really wanna duke it out I have better hanger design and welds lmao. Then obviously there's the sound which no other muffler can give, extremely smooth and deep. Not one person on here should argue that full Cattman exhaust from header to rear section isn't indeed the best, hands down.

I could not afford the headers. Plus, I'm just kidding we all have our tastes..

I didnt realize that was only the axle-back. I definently wish i could get some cattman headers too.

Definently not impressed with the greddy fitment, i wont lie. And in fact its driving me crazy that i cant find out what the damn rattle is. I tried to take a video of the exhaust (not to capture the rattle) real quick but my camera can't pick up the sound like i hear it in person...so it sounded like dookie.

anyway, im off with my zip ties to go tie up those hangars
