In search of new rims...need opinions

I'm sick and tired of riding on semi heavy Mitsu Eclipse 17s(they're around 21lbs). They're too narrow (6.5) and offset is wrong (+46). I'm not going up to 18s because i respect my car's performance and want to increase it, therefore lightweight 17s are my only option, especially since i just got new 17" tires(225/45/17 Fuzion HRI).

I came across these rims, they're called Falken Hanabi.
http://www.edgeracing.com/images/whe...angle_zoom.jpg

Thats what they look like. My reasons for liking them is they're under 17lbs, and look clean.

My car is Beige...does anybody have any comments on these wheels, and if it'll look good or not? Also, i plan on running a staggered setup, but these wheels only come in 17x7.5 with +42, and 17x9 with +20. Will the offset on the back rims be a problem? Since i'll have the same size tires in front/back, the only reason for the staggered setup is the look.

Here's how they look on a Jetta staggered.

http://www.hostdub.com/albums/siuson...ay_new_015.jpg

opinions? I'm also open to suggestions of something else, as long as its light, 17" and not expensive. Not rota subzero, i dont like how they look on my color.

Seen them before, they do perform well, but it's like our sawblades: One side of the car is backwards from the other. I.E. Such as on the Jetta, on the right they spin forwards, on they left, backwards.

Get these: Work Emotion CR Kai 17s. They weigh about 19 pounds and look AWESOME on a 4th gen. just check out maximus_95's sig. they are heavier but they look great.

haha just because people go with 18s doesn't mean they don't respect their car's performance...

anyway, moda R6 are incredibly sexy. (5-spoke lover here) not sure on the weight, though.

grams are farily light, but can get expensive as well.

if you get staggered rims, i don't understand why you would get the same size tire. that stretched look is gross. i thought you respect your car's performance? wider wheels were meant for wider tires. if you want the same width tire all around, get the same width wheel. maybe a different offset or spacers if you want a wide stance in the back?

Pretty much any given wheel will perform better in 17" rather than 18", so i want to go with the higher performing one. I would go 16" but i don't think its big enough for 4th gens, and i already have almost new 17" tires.

I do really like the R6, but if i remember correctly, they're pretty heavy.

You're right about the Gramlights, they're waaaay too expensive for this car.

My reason for getting same size tire for stagger is because i just got these tires without thinking about upgrading to a staggered setup. I doubt it would hurt performance, but i posted on here to make sure it would actually work, especially with a +20 offset. I did think about spacers in the back, that would probably be a better idea considering my situation.

Any other opinions are welcome!

edit: blackmax, thanks for the link, i'll try that site.

If you go stagger i would be concerned about running a 225 on a 9" tire...unless that's not too extreme of a stretch.

Some VIP cars run that, but those things aren't practical at all, so i'm not even sure if that would be safe for everyday use and HARD cornering.

goto www.edgeracing.com which have wheel weights on there stuff.
i get grassroots motorsports and they have advertisements for tirerack which have wheel weights in there - i dont see any wheel weights at there website or other advertisements go figure.

also try http://www.wheelweights.net/ for a huge list of rims and there weights and materials. you will have to search for cost elsewhere or from the manufacture.

Thanks guys. I like the 5zigen rx-6, price seems to be somewhat in my reach as well.

Here's a link: http://sportcompactonly.com/part.asp...6&pr=0&p=53299

I can't find them on wheelspecs.com, and the 5zigen website. Can anybody help me find the weight of these?

Edit: found it, they named the wheel wrong at SCO. Its RSX-6

Ok #1 this setup is going to look stupid (no offense) the front wheels are going to be tucked under the front like the stockers and the rears are going to stick out from under the fender.

If you really want this wheel I would suggest you go for the 18x8.5 +38 I know they are 20lbs but they would fit properly and hold a nice size tire.

These are 17x8.5 +40 front and 17x9.5 +38 rear
Enkei RPF1s 16lbs each
A 17x9 +35 is very flush in the rear but sticks out in the front (about 5mm) If I was picking a size for the Max I would look for a 8.5 or 9 around +40 and use a 5mm spacer in the rear. For staggered I would use 8.5 +40 front and 9 +35 rear (roll the inner fender edge in the rear... minor contact compressed)

Very good looking, great price just not quite the weight you're looking for. These will be on mine.

More your weight:

18's or 19's silver or chrome... 20's would be less expensive vs 19's and you can drop it on H. Tech's... best look

As i think about it more, i probably won't go with a stagger since it looks like i'll need new tires. I don't want to go up to 18s. Would the 5zigens look good in 17" on a beige car with a stillen lip/cut flaps/tint/m3 spoiler?

Here's what they look like on a TSX, but these are 18":

I'll keep looking, keep the replies coming guys.

I've cracked 2 gramlights so far. Refuse to buy another replacement rim. Gets pricey.

Hey guys how would 17x7 with +35mm offset look, with a 225/45/17 tire? In line with fender, or still inside too much?

If you have the $ get the Mille Migila Evo 5. I dont think they make them anymore but you could def find some. If youre looking for a cheaper alternative id go with the 17" rims off an 02-03 Maxima.
