Need help from 5spd. conversion guys - Have CEL code 10-3 (park neutral pos. switch)

Ever since I converted to manual a few years ago I always had this code (10-3) which says its the PARK/Neutral Position Switch. It doesn't affect drivability or anything but it will cause me to fail smog since I cannot have any type of CEL code.

I could never figure out how to bypass this code and would like some help from guys who have done their 5speed conversions or anyone who knows how to get rid of this code.

When I reset the ECU, the CEL stays off for a couple weeks before it will come back on.

Im using a 97 manual ecu. My cruise light turns on but I dont think it works. Assuming my cruise doesnt work, what would I do from there?

BTW, the switch where you have to step on the clutch to start the car, I wired that to a momentary on/off button so rather than stepping on the clutch I push the button instead. I did that because the switch on the clutch pedal is missing.
