Lower control arm bushings

I have rediculous amounts of wheel hop right now, the wheel hop actually makes my cd player skip. Happens everytime i put my foot down in the rain, and sometimes does it really bad in the dry. The car currently 190K miles, original LCA and bushings, original suspension, original mounts. The suspension will be changed out soon, in favour of AGX's and sprint springs. I am on a somewhat tight budget, so im wondering if new lower control arm bushings would help, i am looking at getting the ES poly urathane ones. Would new motor mounts make a big difference? I have another problem that i think might be related to mounts. more or less when the car is cold it seems, if im driving and let off the gas the car kinda jerks a bit, and same when i apply the gas, not a jerk like if the engine is missing, like it feels like how it is jerky in first especially when cold. could this be related to the transmission mounts?

thanks
chris

My car does all of the above, even after replacing the control arms and filling the lower engine mounts with urethane. Still I get wheel hop, loss of traction if there is a drop of moisture on the ground. I also get that annying jerking when on and off the gas in almost every gear. I can't figure out what is causing this crap for the life of me...

yeah it really sucks, its hard to push the car in the dry too, when you get wheel hop im afrad of blowing the tranny so i have to baby the 1-2 shift and i cant fully get on it in first.

Normal, for an open diff. The lower traction means that if your wheels are turned at all, you'll slip one wheel and get no acceleration.

I also get that annying jerking when on and off the gas in almost every gear.
That isn't wheel hop. It's caused by the backlash in the geartrain and axles, and it's normal for all 5 speed vehicles. You need to work on smoother throttle application.

ohh alright, the jerking isnt so prominant in other manual transmission vehicles though. I have the vlsd and i still get wheel hop, especially around a corner when the inner wheel spins then the outer one "engages" the car starts to hop. the only good thing is ive become so use to it i can usually prevent all wheel hop now, but it requires me to short shift or let off.

You're right, that's not wheel hop but, it is annoying. I have owned 2 other Nissan 5 speeds and I have never had this issue. I just wish there was some way to tighten it up a little. But that is probobly easier said than done.

the annoying jerk will def. be there no matter what, but if it is bad or you suspect you still have play in your engine even after replacing everything you mentioned don't forget that the crossmember also has bushings that deform and compress over time, and the core-supports always rot out on 4th gens where the crossmember attaches
