Sometimes, meaning only once in a while, when i hit the brakes to slow down gradually, the pedal will be extremely mushy and i will have to push hard and down a ways in order to have the brakes slow the car. If I release the pedal, and apply it again, it works like normal. What could be causing this? I checked the fluid and it looked fine. Could it be a line somewhere that is flexing too much? Thanks for the help

 

@ that quote. Could be bubbles in the fluid or flexing of the brake hoses. may be time for a flush and some Stainless Steel braided lines.

 

Start with a simple bleed. Maybe change the fluid while you are at it too. Could be a leak somewhere. Do you ever have to top off the fluid reservoir? Start with a bleed first since it is easiest/cheapest thing.
