I was driving car for around a year now and still can find the best position even though it has all kinds of powered adjustments but still.... i wonder if the leather seats are more comfortable??
Any thoughts??

I've got cloth and have driven my car on 6+hr trips quite a few times, and I don't think they're too bad. The seats in my Paseo are nice because they hold you better on turns, but they are super uncomfortable for anything over an hour.

I had cloth seats & they sucked, now that I have heated leather, they're more firmer & comfortable than cloth!!!

I've had both cloth and leather I believe the leather seats are a little bit more comfortable but some of the after market seats are heavenly. I would love a top of the line corbeau or bride seat. but as far as factory i think our seats are very comfortable but i think some of the new VW seats might be a little better than ours

IMHO, it all depends on your proportions and body type. I'm a tall skinny guy, and I like seats that curve to support my lower back, and the lower part of the seat angled a lot to support my legs more.

The Maxima seat adjusts well for the lumbar and legs, but behind my shoulders it's thicker than it should be and so it makes me hunch my shoulders forward a bit. On long drives it makes me nuts, but it's still the best of the cars we have.

i'm tall and skinny but i have no lower back support and my legs dont really feel right. i wish the lumber control was more then just a lever. I drive 5 hours str8 once in a while and i'm not a fan but then again i haven't been in a seat that i liked for 5 hours of driving.

I wish the stock leather seats were more of a bucket type. Even the rear seats have more of a bucket than the front seats.

Thy're not the best, but not the worst either. I reserve the worst rating for GM seats. The best seats, IMHO- Volvo seats.

Everybody who rides in my car says they fall asleep. I love our seats but am most likely going to try to swap some 5th gen seats in the future.

I wish they were just a C-hair more sporty. Deeper bucket, which hug alittle more on the sides. IMO

I like the feel of the cloth.

Are we talking about seats, or seating position?

i duno if u guyg have it but my maxima has this lever on the right side of the drivers seat that when in the down position it extend this back support from inside the seat, i find that after a while i like to use that lower back support it order for my back to feel "different" i think it helps

THEY SUCK!!!

I have a 95 with leather, a little dryed out by the sun but not cracked. The leather in my 02 Max is like being in a lazy-boy

Leather seats FTW. Next mod idea: remove your seat cover (lthr or fabric) and put one of those massage thingers that you put on chairs, then reinstall the cover. Run the wire out the bottom in the back and keep the remote on the side of your seat.....

Not that easy....but an idea I've played with for 2 years. Was about to do it in my old max and then it got totalled. Never put them in.

Yes, that is the lumbar support which simply provides more lower back support.

I have cloth and think that they are good, but definatley not the best. When putting it in perspective though, its definatley very comfertable for being 10 years old and more comfertable than newer cars ive been in. I wish they had better bolsters though and maybe more of a bucket style. My friend's GTI has amazingly comfertable seats and ive driven a couple g35s and those seats are nice too but too luxurious for me.

i want big bolstered racing seats!!!!

I don't really like them (cloth on a 96). They seemed odd when I first drove the car, then I fianlly figured out they're too short. Not too low, too short--not long enough front to back to support the front of my legs. I can never get completely comfortable.

The most comfortable Maxima seats that I have experienced were 1995 SE black leather seats-the leather seemed softer and thicker and more comfortable than tan leather seats on a same year maxima. I think the cloth on later models, was softer and more comfortable on the SE, than the GXE which seems to have a heavier/tougher fabric.

The 4th gen are OK, I have cloth but think leather would be better. I also have c70 volvo, and you can just slide right into the seat. Very comfortable and the head rests are too. The 07' Maximas seats arent that bad.

I found the seats in my 4th Gen to be rather lousy. The curvature was not very ergonomic. The side bolstering wasn't too great.

But the main thing that bothered me was a lack of telescoping steering wheel. If I set up the seat to keep my legs comfortable for the pedals, the reach to the steering wheel was too long.

I think the cloth seats are comfortable but I don't care for the back support. If I drive for to long it starts to hurt my lower back. Tried to adjust the support but still doesn't do anything for long trips.
