B pipe and muffler

B pipe and muffler
hey guys, I'm just wondering I have the money to get the rest of my exhaust system now... so I got a couple of questions in mind. In ur opinion which should I get
- is it worth it to get a magnaflow catalytic converter?
- should I get a budget b-pipe and a Cattman muffler, or just the whole cattman exhaust system?
- is the gains worth the cost? or am I just paying for the sound?
thanks for the input guys

you are pretty much paying for sound. i'm pretty sure you know that as well. but then again your spending the same amount for the same amount of gain as most other NA cars out there. its not like our cars are extremely holding us back at the NA stage.
i'm looking to replace my exhaust system in the future because of rust and the price of OEM VS aftermarket. Jstutter showed us a cut out of how the bends were on his OEM b-pipe.

yeah i guess nissan new how poor the flow was of the factory y and b pipe, so they atleast made the cat flow good? the cat is a 2.5" but the rest of the exhaust varies from 2" to like 1". With catbacks most of the time you pay for sound, that is true for most cars. The gains are pretty small. for the price of a decent stainless steel catback (400ish) id rather put it towards a mod that will give way better gains throughout the whole powerband...00vi. alternatively you could go for a mevi.

I'm just wondering if its worth it to get a full cattman exhaust, or if I should just get a budget b pipe and then a cattman muffler?

I would stick with the OEM muffler and get the Budget b-pipe, but then again I am not into noise and only have a K&N panel filter, no intake.
I replaced my OEM muffler with OEM in August and plan on getting a stainless steel Budget b-pipe, with resonator, in due course.
I have a stainless steel Budget y-pipe and am pleased with it.

As far as "worth it", they are both going to do pretty much the same job but the full Cattman will probably have a cleaner sound.
Sound is such a personal choice that I would just say it's up to you.

Personally I'd get a Wb02 and AFC before 00vi. Then you have all bases covered, unless you dish for eManage.

EDIT: I was saying get AFC and Wb02 in prep for 00vi.. Maybe you didn't understand that.

this might sound like a noob question but what is Wb02? and u guys are saying that a performance muffler wont make better hp gains its just for sound?

Yea I have an unresonated Budget B and I absolutley hate it. It drones all the time and sounds like shiite. I plan on getting a warpspeed Resonated B and a muffler in the next couple months.

Im glad I read this forum, I was planning to "upgrade" to a Greddy SP2 or the Cattman and all that crap, now I'll stick to OEM. I like the SE model anyway it looks nice, I have a GLE. Thanks guys you just saved me lotsamoney.

edit: maximafrenzy, why are you staying stock now? The thread is explaining that stock isn't better for exhaust. Muffler is fine if you dont want more noise and the cat is good. The rest of the stock exhaust is restrictive as hell.

And I was not going to do it just to get some HP, I always said when the muffler goes bad I will spend the extra to get a decent upgrade.
