Evap purge flow monitioring CEL.need help!
Hey, i just put an code reader on my car and i had p1447 code show up.I just got off the phone with nissan, and it has to do with the valves.the code is for Evap pure flow monitioring thing,i dont know really anything about it so any help on how to fix this problem or any advice just on what to do it would be great. Thanks
i got 1446 once and had to replace the vent control valve. i did a little research for you and found this:
To purge the fuel vapors from the charcoal canister, the engine control module (ECM) must first energize the canister purge control vacuum solenoid valve, which will apply vacuum to the canister purge control valve - causing it to open and apply vacuum to the charcoal canister. The system uses the canister purge volume control valve (a six-wire stepper motor) to regulate the amount of purge flow that is allowed at any given time.
so maybe that valve is your problem?

yea thanks but the one i have is a 1447 so its a bit different anyone else know what this could be or know anything about it like price to fix it or anything im doing anything to stay away from dealers
Also i was reading all about the evap monitioring and it has to do with a bunch of different stuff.Yesterday my alternator went im having it rebuild tomorrow,on top of that i have 02 sensor needs to be replaced, which iam getting tomorrow,i need a knock sensor and last but not least i need a new filler pipe for my gast tank.I'm wondering could it be a combination of the o2 sensor, knock sensor, and the whole in my filler pipe which screws up my fuel tank pressure be the casue of my car throwing the 1447 code?
the filler neck might be the cause if its letting gas vapors escape in the atmosphere. ecu's by law have to pick up an evap leak thats .02in (or it might be .20in....something small though).
also, i typed in "how to fix p1447" on google and came across this:
"P1447 CODE IN MAXIMA , SENTRA, AND ALL NISSAN CARS MEANS // - GAS FUMES FROM GAS TANK TO EVAP VALUE // LEAKING IN SHORT GAS IS LEAKING(FUMES) ... .. SO CHECK FOR CRACK RUBBER HOSES AND REPLACE THEM... CODE WILL GO AWAY...."
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_...san_Sentra_GXE
so i would say once you replace your filler neck, clear the codes. drive around for a day or two (at least two trips) and see if the code comes back. if it does it could be one of the valves. while you have the car in the air you may want to just take a look around at the hoses coming off the evap canistor to make sure they dont have any cracks or anything wrong. if you find any cracked hoses coming off the canistor youre going to want to replace them. and just for the hell of it since youll be under the car examine the 2 or 3 valves looking for rust or dirt or something that might cause them to go bad.

to answer your question about the sensors, no...those wouldnt trigger an evap code. just 02sensor and knock sensor codes.
and with the 02 sensor, i recently replaced one with a universal boshe 02 sensor. although its cheaper, its more of a pain in the a$$ to put in because you have to take the old one and splice the wires together. so yea its cheaper, but a little more work. so its up to you what you want to do with that.

Yeah, again thanks for the help i did some research myself. When the car is in "cold soak" like left over night, when you start the car it does a vaccum test or pressure test on the fuel tank.So i figure the whole in the pipe is not making it hold or have the right amount of pressure, along with that i have a whole in my convertor,so that will affect it too.Im getting my alternator rebuild cause its on its way out,my 02 sensor, knock sensor, and filler pipe done,im hoping that will fix everything. Also where are the valves located under the car so i can check them?.
